6 Strange But Fun Drinking Games

Recreational drinking of alcohol has been around for a while. Even though alcoholic beverages can be used as cleansing agents and analgesics, the idea of simply drinking for the fun of it is generally the most common use. Yet, people like to take the concept of social drinking even further to create an even more enjoyable situation by making a game of consuming alcohol. Some of these games can be as simple as taking a shot of hard liquor upon a random external cue or can be complicated to have rules and regulations that rival any sport or board game. Being in an intoxicated state of mind can really put odd spins on these games to come up with entirely new ones that become popular and spread like wild fire despite the fact they were created in the most ridiculous of circumstances. Here is a look at some of the most fun and most unique drinking games for you to play when enjoying a few adult beverages with your friends on a late weekend night.

1.Kings

Many of the best drinking games involve a deck of cards. When you spend all your money buying alcohol for the gathering, chances are good that you don’t want to gamble it away on what you just bought. Therefore, pull out the cards and just have fun. With a bar full of mixers and a standard deck, you can play Kings. The potential of the game to result in rather disgusting concoctions is half the fun. Deal the entire deck of cards one card at a time in front of each person sitting around the common area (whether it is a table or simply an empty patch of floor by this time). The first person to draw one of the kings from the card deck gets to pick the liquor to be used in the end drink. The second person to get a king chooses the mixer for the alcohol. The third person is forced to drink no matter what it is. Just remember though that the end king could be placed in front of anyone—something to keep in mind when you pick out the liquor and mixer. If you are out at a bar rather than at home, a fourth king is usually involved. The third person to get a king has to pay for the combined drink picked out by King-One and King-Two while the fourth king has to drink it.

2. Never Have I Ever (or I Never)

This fun classic drinking game is an interesting way to get to know the people around you while revealing odd factoid about yourself and enjoying an adult beverage. Yet, this game can also be a lot of fun with a group composed of close friends (whose embarrassing secrets you already know) and a few strangers in front of whom you can poke fun at your friends. Each player in a predetermined order takes turns making a true statement in the form of “Never have I ever…” or “I never…” Anyone who is part of the listening group that actually has done the mentioned deed must drink. The drink is plenty explanation, meaning that unless the group wants more detail the game simply goes forth with just the extra knowledge that the person sitting next to you used to eat Play-Doh as a child or has been naked in a public pool. This is certainly a game though that the more drunk everyone gets the more fun it gets.

3.Thumper

What about those who drink and acquire a flair for the dramatic? Each player for this game gets to pick a specialized gesture for themselves that represents them throughout the entire game. The designated person to begin the game starts by performing their individual gesture then signals to the next person of their choice by performing that other person’s signal. The next chosen player then has to respond by doing their personal gesture and picking the next person by performing their gesture. If anyone along the line hesitates or fails to acknowledge their signal or even forgets a gesture (whether their own or someone else’s) then that person must drink.

4. Battleship

Drinking games can also have a great deal of skill involved with them. One of the most popular games that requires the players to have cat like reflexes and the ability to still strategize and plan ahead. You begin with a pitcher full of beer that is big enough to hold an empty cup. Place the empty cup in the liquid of the pitcher. You may have to go ahead and put a little bit of beer in the floating cup in order to balance it properly. Each player then takes turns pouring additional beer into the floating cup. After pouring however much the play wants there is a five second wait before the next player. The goal is to almost sink the floating cup as the person who eventually “sinks the battleship” or floating cup as you can commonly call it is the one who has to fish it out and chug all the beer that will fit in the cup. You have to fill the cup as much as possible so that the next person cannot add even a few drops of beer without sinking the cup.

5. BUZZ

What happens when brainiacs get together with a good supply of alcohol and a plan that involves nothing more than destroying a handful of their overworked brain cells? Smart people need drinking games too! However, their games tend to be more complicated and definitely need to be played only at the beginning of the evening if you have a normal or average IQ with allowances being made later during the drinking games depending on how much higher your intelligence factor is. The drinking game known as “Buzz” is relatively simple in its ways but requires thinking ability or at least a thorough knowledge of your multiplication times tables. Each player that is part of the gaming group goes around in a predetermined cycle merely counts off sequential numbers (one, two, three, so on and so forth) until a person reaches a number that is divisible by seven. That person must then say “buzz” rather than their seven divisible number. If a person doesn’t say buzz when their number can be divided by seven or if he or she says buzz when the number is not divisible by seven, that mistaken person must drink. The main goal is to reach very high numbers. Urban legend dictates the highest game ever played was to 1200!

6.Beer Roulette

Roulette is a random game of chance. Just let the ball roll around the wheel until it finds a place to settle itself. Beer roulette is very similar in is randomness. At the end of the night when your faculties are starting to float away and concentration is a dirty word that no one wants to mention, this fun game is merely about making a mess. Be sure that the host or hostess is satisfied with the place you set this game up because things will get sticky and wet. Players gather cans of beer that are then compiled on a single table. One player (or even a team of players) gets to vigorously shake and tumble a SINGLE can out of the collection. Then, all the beers are shuffled until no one knows which can is the one that is “excited.” Each player picks a can and everyone opens them at the same time. The loser ends up getting sprayed with beer before he has to chug what is left.
